Congratulations to the Able Foundation our Charity Express winner for January 2010. The Able Foundation is dedicated to serving the needs of the citizens of Beaufort County with disabilities and special needs. Their mission is to empower and motivate these special individuals to reach for and obtain their maximum potential. Tim, the President of Marke’s, Heating and Cooling is presenting the check to the representatives of the Able Foundation.

Julie’s Mission 2009 Year End Charity Express Winner !

Congratulations to Julie’s Mission for being our 2009 year end winner. This award is for the most votes accumulated throughout the entire year. Among a large field of worthy causes this fine organization prevailed to take the prize. Due to the dedication of their supporters this is their third win. The check is being presented by Jack Davis, Chairman of the Board for Markes Heating and Cooling. To reiterate; Julie’s Mission, provides for critically ill newborns and their families. With the help of volunteers they sew, knit; crochet and craft needed items for the passing of newborns and their families which are not generally available in NICUs and neonatal nurseries in times of crisis and confusion. 

The Sandbox An Interactive Children’s Museum November 2009 Charity Express Winner

Marke’s Heating and Air Conditioning has now donated $10,000 to local charities.

 

Congratulations to The Sandbox Children’s Museum, our November Charity Express winner. Carol Moran Pfeffer, Executive Director of The Sandbox is receiving a check from Tim Ferguson, President of Marke’s Heating and Air Conditioning. The Sandbox is an interactive children’s museum designed to make the learning experience a fun and stimulating family experience. The displays have been developed to encourage adults and children alike to engage and explore unusual, fun, and mind expanding activities that will strengthen family relationships. Congratulations to Julie’s Mission. Thanks to an effort by their local supporters, our December 2008 winner is this years September 2009 recipient. The check is being presented by Jack Davis, Chairman of the Board for Markes Heating and Cooling to Dee Brantley the Founder of Julie’s Mission. Julie’s Mission, provides for critically ill newborns and their families. With the help of volunteers they sew, knit; crochet and craft needed items for the passing of newborns and their families which are not generally available in NICUs and neonatal nurseries in times of crisis and confusion.

As a non-profit organization  The Literacy Volunteers of the Low Country provide the tools and training necessary to help Low Country adults achieve the literacy skills needed to advance and improve in today’s job market.
